Recently I’ve been thinking back at all my past creative jobs. When I look back at it now, my funniest job had to have been when I got hired as an intern for Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls. At the time- I will admit I did find the internship (which eventually lead to being the actual graphic & web designer) a little overwhelming because if I wasn’t at school, my free time would be helping to make content with the team.

Looking back at it now, I wish I still had the same job. Not to mention, it was awesome knowing we worked with Amy Poehler! She is amazing, funny and I love her dedication for making an amazing space on the internet dedicated to showing incredible women & real issues in the world.

I want to share a few videos below that I got spotted in that I honestly forgot I came out in!

This was a fun video shoot day- It was our producers daughters birthday and she wanted the theme of her party to be Smart Girls!
I totally forgot we went to Stunt Ranch! This was such a fun day!! Check out the video to spot me in an explosive situation.

I designed a graphic that was used to ask people what they were proud of that they felt could change the world… Check it out in this Operation Nice: Senior Citizens video.

I’m sure there’s a few things I’m forgetting about but I do remember the job always being different each day. They did so much to great awesome content to inspire others. One thing I’ve come to figure out about myself as I’ve gone through different creative jobs is that I do not like doing the same thing over and over. I’m not one to sit still and do the same routine everyday. Being an intern at Smart Girls was completely creative and not a typical 9-5 job.

I remember having to drive up north (I lived South Austin at the time) and going into the production office to work in our small office area. We would begin at the office and venture out to a video shoot. Although at the time I did think I didn’t have enough time for myself, there was a ton of fun things we would do each time. We did a things I probably wouldn’t have planned on my own and I’m grateful for those experiences.

These are a few video shoots I was able to attend behind-the-scenes at!

One year, I remember it was our production studio boss’s birthday and we took him out to Lake Travis for a surprise parasailing adventure.

Sorry for the bad audio! It was a short video of the day we took our boss parasailing.

Thanks for reading this lengthy post on reminiscing a past job I enjoyed. Appreciate all the experiences life throws at you- you’ll most likely gain something out of each opportunity even if you think you didn’t.
