The Harry Potter Tag

I was browsing through my fellow Female Geek Bloggers posts and stumbled across ‘the Harry Potter tag’ post from The Howling Wolfheart! I know this is suppose to be someone tagging you in order to fill out the post but it seemed too fun to pass up…

Harry Potter will always be a series I love! If I see something related to Harry Potter, I’m most likely going to click the link and check out what’s going on. Honestly, this was a very nice post to make. I definitely feel like hosting a HP marathon now.

Loru’s Manor – Minecraft Sub Server

Lately I’ve been playing a lot of Minecraft – Especially since we have our very own Minecraft Sub Server for the subscribers to my Twitch Channel.

We have amazing builders in our server & I just started getting comfortable making my own builds without the help of being in creative mode.

TwitchCon 2016 Recap

TwitchCon is officially over… and it honestly makes me sad. This convention seemed different than the others. It felt more personal and it’s one definitely to put down in the books.

Where to begin? I’ll recap throughout the days of my trip! Hands down, I can probably name this convention as one of my favorites.

Top 5 Indie Games with Female Protagonists

Samus and Lara Croft aren’t the only female protagonists in video games anymore. AAA studios are slowly introducing more female leads in their games as evidenced in E3 2016. And it’s no wonder. Despite what certain elements of the internet would have you believe, female gamers make up a sizeable portion of the market. Around 41 percent of women in the United States play video games.

Despite the wide market of female gamers, large studios have been slow to introduce new female leads due to their natural risk aversion. They see the market as male-driven, with women gaming in hiding or having to protect themselves with a VPN service such as BufferedVPN to avoid creeps online. Some studios prefer to ignore that. With millions of dollars on the line and investors demanding a good return on their investment, it’s not surprising most AAA studios churn out the same male-led military shooters year after year. They’re only recently stepping outside of their comfort zone and introducing more diversity.

Of course, that’s not the case for the entire industry. Indie game studios have long pushed the envelope in terms of themes, gameplay and diversity. If you’re looking for some amazing games with female leads, check out the ones below.

Pokemon GO: VLOG 1

Pokemon GO has taken over! I remember looking at my news feed and how it was just bombarded with the new Pokemon GO app. I was tired and annoyed of it at first. Then, I noticed a bunch of my friends were having a good time with it. My boyfriend ended up getting the app too and we caught a few Pokemon together. Then I decided to download it myself… I got hooked fast!

My favorite part about having the app is just actually getting out of my apartment – I use to go running every now and then before Pokemon, but adding the Pokemon GO app does make running a little more fun. It does give me more of a drive to actually go outside. A few friends and I decided to go Pokemon hunting around downtown Austin, TX last night. I’d love to share with you my finds & experience!
