SDCC 2014: Friday

July 25th, 2014
It felt so amazing to sleep in on Friday. We were so burnt out from the day before and it was only day one in San Diego! After getting ready and waking up, we took a taxi to the convention and decide to hit up some free events. One of our first activities was to check out the Nintendo event over at the Marriott hotel.

There were so many different games to try out from Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart 8, Just Dance 2015 and a TON more great games. It was also being live streamed on Nintendo's Twitch channel. There were so many people that we never got around to trying out the games - only checking out the event. We took a quick food intermission at the Old Spaghetti Factory! It was packed out with all the comic-con goers but luckily it didn't take long for us to get seated. I highly recommend checking out this place! I was pleased with their appetizer/meal/dessert section in their menu. I spent a satisfying $15 and felt I got my moneys worth.

After our delicious lunch, we headed to the Nerd HQ!

There was so much free stuff at the Nerd HQ! I really loved the wristband-app system they were doing. You register yourself and receive a wristband that holds all your social  media networks and lets you check in with a scanning system. It was really awesome and efficient for sharing your experience there. We had gone a little later in the day so most of the fun stuff to do was already closing down. I did however enjoy receiving free items and taking pictures in the area.

Our friends were generous enough to lend us their SDCC badges so we could buy a few more things inside the convention. As I mentioned before, I was only able to get a Thursday/Sunday pass and my friend wasn't able to score any of the days. I will probably have to do a 'SDCC Haul' video of all the things I purchased!

We ended up staying there until the convention was closing and decided to grab a few drinks before the @Midnight live show.

Oh my! This show was HILARIOUS! I'll sum up what happened at the show... Competing with my friend on how many tweets we could get to show up on the big screen, a marriage proposal (I was totally tearing up from how cute it was!) and just enjoying some raw/dirty humor. I was really happy to see more female geek bloggers in the crowd as well :D

It was such a fun Friday! :) Be sure to check out my posts on my other days in San Diego coming up. And remember, I'll also be planning a giveaway with all the free items I got and I'll be making a few posts on some tips/advice that I experienced throughout my trip!
