So last night was the Female Geek Bloggers Google Hangout #7: Video Games! Check out the video below to view the broadcast from yesterday.
Due to my horrible internet connection, I was able to hear snippets of the beginning of the hangout, but it was still a great experience anyway!
I just wanted to point out some highlights that we talked about and elaborate on some of the topics.
Games I'm Currently Playing & Nostalgic Games
In the video discussion, I mention some of my favorite games to play are the Halo series.
Like I said, I miss my high school days when a bunch of my friends and I would get together and have huge LAN parties. I remember we would play Gears of War and Left 4 Dead, as well. The game would also get intense whenever we played capture the flag! It seemed our friendships were on the line whenever we played that, haha. Fun stuff!
Another nostalgic game I love would be Super Mario All Star! I think I played that game SO MUCH when I was little that I can still remember all the secrets til this day. It never gets old for me. I still have my original Super Nintendo and my games from when I was little.
Games I currently play at the moment are:
Borderlands 1 & 2
Left 4 Dead 1 & 2
Halo ODST & 4
Sniper Elite Nazi Zombie Army
Alice Madness Returns
Just to name a few.
PC VS Console (Mobile vs Tablet)
I've always been a console gal. I started off with a Super Nintendo to N64 to Xbox and finally Xbox 360. I definitely prefer using a controller over WSAD. Lately, I've been doing a lot of PC gaming. Ever since the Xbox One and PS4 came out, there are games I'd love to play but aren't made just for one console. I don't have $400 to dish out on a new console - so I decided to stay gaming on PC for now. I can access the latest games through Steam, Origin, etc. To be honest, even though I PC game, you will still find me using a controller to play some FPS games :) It's so much easier to play Titanfall, Tomb Raider, Borderlands 2, Left 4 Dead 2, etc.
I couldn't really hear some of the conversations going on in the hangout due to my connection, but I think Indie games was thrown in there! The gaming industry is rapidly growing - Seems like there are a lot more people who want to becoming part of the community. I think it's great that there are people wanting to learn how to make and design games. Upon searching through some indie games, it does amaze me to see all the different types of games made! I'd love to create a game in my lifetime one day... hopefully soon!
Be sure to watch the video to hear their awesome discussions! If you are a female geek blogger, be sure to join the group! It's a great community! I've become friends with a few bloggers already and you will gain a great amount of support. It's definitely a safe and friendly community!
