My Favorite ‘Best Friend’ships

January 18th, 2014
I just finished watching the last two episodes of Sherlock season 3. I was tempted to write this post right after I saw it. I was so in love with the very-obvious love and friendship Sherlock and Watson have together. It made me start to think about the friendships I admire in TV shows.

First up... JD and Turk from Scrubs.

I've been watching Scrubs since I was in high school *thanks to my boyfriend who got me hooked on the show*. The relationship between JD and Turk is so kooky, fun and straight-up "guy love" (click and watch the video!) in their words. Their relationship seriously makes watching the TV show more enjoyable. It's so funny and awesome! I still love watching Scrubs and I'll get happy whenever I see re-runs on TV. It'll always be one of my favorite shows! An oldie, but a goodie one.

In honor of their friendship/guy-love/bromance/Chocolate Bear & Vanilla Bear love/etc. I found some bracelets you and your best friend can wear, if you're a Scrubs fan.

QuareNick has created a Turk and JD bracelet that I found perfect for all you Scrubs fans. You can feel the bromance already just by looking at these!

Next up... Shawn and Gus from Psych!

I got into Psych after my college Speech professor kept showing us clips of the show during his class. He loved the show and would use clips from the show during his lectures. I remember thinking "That looks like a really funny show..." So once I saw it was on Netflix I watched all the seasons in a very short period of time! Shawn and Gus have a very fun friendship. Ovaltine Jenkins and William Zane or you can call them "Black" and "Tan" ... They come up with the silliest nicknames (click to watch the video!) and they are always entertaining to hear during each episode!

StampedMemoriesByMel has actually created a friendship necklace using the "Black" and "Tan" nicknames used in an episode. And of course it has the signature pineapple symbol associated with Pysch! I love these! Too cute - Now I need to convince my best friend if we can wear these...

Lastly... Sherlock and Watson from Sherlock!

I adore their friendship. So awkward yet you can definitely see how much they care for each other - And I'm talking about the Sherlock/Watson from BBC Sherlock AND the Sherlock/Watson with Robert Downey Jr. & Jude Law. As I was watching Season 3 of Sherlock, I loved seeing how strong Sherlock's love for Watson was... *spoiler* Even when they showed Moriarty taunting Sherlock about Watson being in danger was very emotionally moving to see... That motivated Sherlock to not go into shock/die.

The Final Problem has created this adorable morse code bracelet that decode a mysterious friendship message, quoted by Sherlock.

Another great piece to share with your best friend is this bracelet by ChasingAtStarlight... I can feel the love with these.

What friendships/relationships do you admire? Any awesome ones from TV shows/movies you love to watch? :) Please share! Hope you and your best friend(s) can share some of these together!

  • I’m going to have to get those bracelets!I love the JD/Turk and Black/Tan as my bestie and I are a salt and pepper duo too.
But the “Watson to my Holmes…” So much feels. I like them all LOL!

  • Lori

@Joie – Hahaha, aw salt and pepper duo! That’s awesome. I know! So many feels when I saw the Watson/Sherlock ones too!

  • Great post! I love how you matched fandom friendships with friendship jewelry. Really liking those morse code bracelets.

  • Aw I love Scrubs! What a fun article :) I can’t think of any power duos off the top of my head… oh, well Jess and Cece from New Girl! They have realistic interactions and have been friends since childhood (if I’m remembering correctly). To make it to adulthood and still be so close is heartwarming!

  • You pretty much summed up most of my favorite duos. The only two you missed were Jess & Cece from New Girl + every Simon Pegg & Nick Frost characters in film & show.

  • Lori

@Kelly – Ahhh, I can’t believe I forgot about Simon Pegg and Nick Frost! They are awesome.

  • Lori

    @Mariko / Miranda – Thanks guys!

  • I just saw the best gifset with Turk and JD. You’ll love it!
